Private Equity and Venture Capital
Venture Capital, sometimes referred to as Private Equity, investment pools invest in private companies through investment strategies managed by dedicated team of equity investment specialists who take an active role and interest in advising start-ups or restructuring mature companies to optimize value. These strategies guide BBG investment in companies depending on their stage of development and attempt to earn a premium return above publicly traded securities, or other investment opportunities.
BBG Mergers and Acquisitions, provide access to Venture Capital and Private Equity investment opportunities through our regional, national and international presence. BBG can, and does, provide institutional and eligible investors access to private equity investments. Also, private equity placements can provide portfolio diversification for these accredited investors.
Private Equity Investing
Recently, some investors have been referring to venture capital and buyout investing as "private equity” investing. This term can be confusing because some in the investment industry use the term "private equity" to refer only to buyout fund investing. Currently, over 50% of investments in venture capital/private equity comes from institutional public and private pension funds, with the remaining 50% coming from endowments, foundations, insurance companies, banks, high net-worth individuals and other entities who seek to diversify their portfolio with this investment class.
